Jakarta, May 9, 2023 - Bersama Digital Data Centres (BDDC), an in-town data center platform that serves as an interconnectivity hub with an integrated digital ecosystem, was introduced to the public.
BDDC represents Bersama Digital Infrastructure Asia's (BDIA) strategic step to support accelerating and fulfilling the demand for digital infrastructure from multiple sectors in Indonesia. As a digital infrastructure platform, BDDC has acquired two in-town data centers, namely PT Rumah Data Kita from ProCap Properti (JST Site) and PT PCDC Propco One (JBT Site) AtriaDC from PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk (Saratoga).
Bersama Digital Data Centres (BDDC) President Commissioner Setyanto Hantoro explained that the establishment of BDDC, which began with the acquisition of two in-town data centres, aims to create a new force capable of providing optimal added value for domestic and multinational businesses. BDDC helps materialize objectives for companies by keeping them connected through an integrated digital infrastructure ecosystem.
"We are both grateful and proud to be able to introduce BDDC to the Indonesian people, who are increasingly becoming more reliant on digitalization. The support of BDIA, which is a representation of Provident Capital (Provident), Saratoga, and Macquarie Asset Management, will further cement BDDC's position as the largest in-town data center platform in Indonesia, providing premium service with the highest level of security," Setyanto explained at the Exclusive Launch event themed "Where Digital Enablers Come Together" (9/5).
Setyanto said that BDDC lies at the heart of a digital and telecommunications infrastructure ecosystem that Provident and Saratoga have successfully built over the years. With Provident and Saratoga's proven track record and extensive network in the digital infrastructure industry, BDDC will continue to strengthen its position by adding locations and capacity of its data centers, which can now reach 60 megawatts.
"We hope BDDC's presence will continue to promote Indonesia's digitalization process more efficiently, help accelerate national economic growth, and be able to have an all-encompassing impact on various regions in Indonesia. We would also like to express our gratitude to our partners and customers who have always trusted and supported BDDC to continue to boost our capacity and provide the best service," said Setyanto.
Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) Chairman Muhammad Arif stated that BDDC's presence would further elevate the data center industry in Indonesia in the future. The rapid internet growth in Indonesia over the last four years, along with the low penetration rate and scale of the data center industry, has opened up opportunities to continue its growth.
Indonesia's data center sector is predicted to grow at a CAGR of 6.27% from 2023 to 2028, according to a recent analysis by Arizton. The market demand for cloud adoption, technology and IoT expenditures in data centers, and the expansion of digitalization overall are what are driving this.
"The growth will be supported by high market demand in parallel with the development of global and local companies based on cloud service provision, technology companies, and also digitalization initiatives that are widely adopted by businesses across multiple sectors. This clearly requires interconnectivity and data center solutions for their business processes," said Arif.
Bersama Digital Data Centres (BDDC) President Director Angelo Syailendra revealed that BDDC, as a digital infrastructure platform, has prepared data centers in strategic locations equipped with dense and varied interconnectivity to support the flourishing digital ecosystem in Indonesia.
"Interconnectivity is one of the primary values of BDDC. To support the business growth of our data center service users, BDDC is built in very strategic locations, in downtown Jakarta, with high interconnectivity and supported by strict operational standards and security credential systems. This will optimize BDDC’s operations as they address a variety of customer needs, effectively and efficiently," said Angelo.
"Going forward, BDDC will continue to expand the capacity and development of the two existing data center sites through a partnership with various connectivity providers, both globally and locally, to strengthen our interconnectivity ecosystem. Our ability to accommodate all the key elements required by our end users will support and help keep their businesses stable in the future," concluded Angelo.
